[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] The Youth Foundation announced on the 8th that it has signed a multilateral business agreement with four organizations?the Korean Medical Association, Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), the Korea Bar Association Legal Aid Foundation, and the Korean Neuropsychiatric Association?to support the independent living of youth preparing for self-reliance.

This agreement was established to build a customized support system that enables youth preparing for self-reliance to timely acquire necessary information and resolve difficulties early in key areas of daily life such as medical care, housing, legal matters, and psychological support. While protection systems exist until the age of 24, these organizations explain that there is a support gap until the age of 34, which is the youth age defined by the Youth Basic Act, making private sector support urgently needed.

Through this agreement, the organizations plan to establish a collaborative system to support the independent living of youth preparing for self-reliance and cooperate with each other. Among them, the Youth Foundation will serve as a hub for discovering and closely managing youth preparing for self-reliance and linking them with the partner organizations.

Meanwhile, the business agreement ceremony held in the afternoon at the Youth Foundation office in Jongno-gu, Seoul, was attended by Jeong Ye-chan, Chairman of the Youth Foundation; Baek Hyun-wook, Vice President of the Korean Medical Association; Ha Seung-ho, Director of the LH National Housing Welfare Headquarters; Oh Wook-hwan, Vice Chairman of the Korea Bar Association Legal Aid Foundation; and Oh Kang-seop, Chairman of the Korean Neuropsychiatric Association. They emphasized, "We will join forces to resolve the difficulties faced by youth preparing for self-reliance through collaboration with each specialized institution."
