This project involves remodeling residential spaces in cooperation with vacant house owners and the city, and renting them out to vulnerable groups such as newlyweds at half the surrounding market price for four years.

Since the pilot project in 2020, the city has completed a total of 11 buildings, and plans to support 3 buildings this year. Remodeling construction costs are supported up to 30 million KRW per building, with the project operator bearing 50% of the total project cost.

A Suncheon city official stated, “This year, we have prepared the ‘Vacant House Remodeling Construction Guidelines’ and distributed them to project operators and constructors to prevent defects such as insulation issues in advance. Additionally, we plan to strengthen post-management by creating inspection and management records for completed remodeled vacant houses that have been promoted so far.”
