By promoting the ‘Solar Salt Export Activation Support Project’ and the ‘Solar Salt Export Product Development Support Project,’ it plans to support product development and marketing for small-scale solar salt exporters and actively pioneer overseas markets and expand sales channels.
The ‘Solar Salt Export Activation Support Project’ has been ongoing for seven years this year.
It has been playing a pivotal role as a catalyst for expanding entry into the global market by consistently recording export achievements to various countries such as the United States, Taiwan, and India through container development and export product development.
This year, two companies will be selected and supported with 30 million KRW each. The companies will use the funds for export product development such as container and packaging development, quality certification, safety inspection costs, and overseas marketing expenses including participation in exhibitions and inviting buyers.
The support targets are solar salt production and export companies in the Jeonnam region that have established solar salt export infrastructure and require export support.
Companies wishing to apply can submit their applications by mail or email to the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT) Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters by the 16th.
Additionally, as a new project this year, the ‘Solar Salt Export Product Development Support Project’ will be promoted to develop high value-added new products such as health functional foods and cosmetics using solar salt.
The plan is to diversify the market by developing new products for various uses beyond cooking products such as seasonings, including cosmetics and health functional foods.
Two companies will be selected through a recruitment announcement in February to March and supported with 60 million KRW each to support the development of high value-added new products.
Kim Hyunmi, Director of Fisheries Distribution and Processing Division of Jeonnam Province, said, “We are discovering promising companies and accelerating exports for the globalization of solar salt,” and added, “We hope many people will take an interest in Jeonnam Province’s efforts to widely promote the excellence of solar salt.”
Detailed information about project support can be found on the official Jeonnam Province website or the Jeonnam Export Information Network.
