[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Ikang) announced on the 8th that from the 8th to the 9th, competency enhancement training will be conducted for nursing public officials working at the administrative welfare centers of 18 neighborhoods at the Health Center's Health Education Hall.
This training is part of the resident-autonomous public service establishment project, "Activation of Visiting Health and Welfare Services," inviting Professor Lee Jung-mi from Chosun Nursing College and several instructors to cover topics such as the roles of neighborhood nursing public officials, understanding residents' health status and health case management, and discovering and linking community health-related resources.

Seo-gu plans to dispatch nursing public officials to neighborhoods to meet and communicate with residents, increasing understanding of their jurisdictional areas due to the increasing elderly population, single elderly households, and chronic disease patients. Furthermore, they aim to discover village health leaders to help village residents identify and solve their own health issues in the future.
Additionally, they plan to create a healthy city Seo-gu together with residents by providing customized health services, planning and operating small group health programs, and supporting voluntary health management activities of local residents.
Lee Won-gu, Director of Seo-gu Health Center, stated, "The role of neighborhood nursing public officials who are well aware of the local conditions is important to foster a culture where residents participate themselves to create healthy villages," and added, "We will continue to strive to promote health projects suitable for Seo-gu."
