Dong-Eui University and Vietnam FPT University Sign Mutual Development MOU

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Dong-Eui University Artificial Intelligence Grand ICT Research Center signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for mutual development and expanded exchange with Vietnam's FPT University in Da Nang, Vietnam, on the 1st.


The signing ceremony was attended by Center Director Jeong Seok-chan, FPT University Vice President Tran Ngoc Tuan, Bodin Nam, Da Nang Campus Chief Professor, and Le Thi My Han, Business Professor.


According to the agreement, the two institutions will cooperate in supporting artificial intelligence education programs, graduate student exchanges, short- and long-term faculty training, discovering international joint research including ODA, and supporting industrial exchanges between Busan and Da Nang companies.


Following this, under the auspices of the Artificial Intelligence Grand ICT Research Center, a corporate exchange meeting was held for business consultations with representatives of domestic ICT companies such as Hanscom Information & Communication, NGEL, Glovit, Roylabs, Wellstech, and Vietnam's largest software company, FPT Software.


The corporate exchange meeting was attended by Nguyen Tuan Phuong, Director of FPT Software, and Korean business executives, where they introduced the ICT technologies possessed by participating companies and exchanged opinions on the potential for Korea-Vietnam ICT business cooperation.

Jeong Seok-chan, Director of the Artificial Intelligence Grand ICT Research Center, said, “FPT University specializes in English and IT technology, making cooperation possible in graduate admission to the AI department, sharing AI education programs, and training programs for FPT University faculty.” He added, “We plan to promote the global expansion of AI technologies developed at our center through supporting exchanges between Korean and Vietnamese ICT companies.”


FPT University is a major private university in Vietnam established in 2006 by the FPT Group, the largest ICT group in Southeast Asia, with the aim of nurturing global IT talent beyond Vietnam.


The university has five campuses in Hanoi (main campus), Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Can Tho, and Quy Nhon, and operates industry-academia integrated courses linked to employment with FPT Software, a subsidiary of the group.
