'Barrier-Free Tourism', Creating Tourism Environments and Expanding Content
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Busan City is creating a tourism environment that considers tourists with disabilities and other vulnerable groups to guarantee their mobility and access rights, and is inviting applications for the ‘Tourism Activation Support Project for Vulnerable Tourists’ until the 24th to select an executing organization for promoting barrier-free tourism.
This year, the city is expanding and promoting the ‘Tourism Activation Support Project for Vulnerable Tourists’ to reflect global trends such as ‘fair tourism’ and ‘barrier-free tourism,’ and to enhance tourism environments and content accessible to everyone.
This call for applications includes ▲ monitoring and analyzing the accessibility status of convenience facilities and providing data ▲ operating customized tourism programs for vulnerable tourists ▲ providing and promoting barrier-free tourism information and guidance services ▲ training specialized personnel for barrier-free tourism and conducting awareness education for the tourism industry regarding vulnerable tourists ▲ consulting (support) for districts and counties to be selected in the 2024 Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s barrier-free open tourism site competition.
The city plans to select one final organization through internal review by the department in charge and the Local Subsidy Deliberation Committee, and will support it with 60 million KRW, an increase of 10 million KRW from last year.
Non-profit corporations and organizations wishing to participate in the project can apply by submitting an application form through the Local Subsidy Portal (Botaem-e) by 6 p.m. on February 24.
