Homeplus announced on the 8th that "good consumption," one of the key initiatives in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management, is gaining positive responses from customers.

According to Homeplus, the cumulative sales of three products in the Good series?Good Toilet Paper, Mini Beauty Tissue, and Kitchen Towel?have surpassed 470,000 units. In particular, the Good Toilet Paper, launched as the first product in the series, has sold over 260,000 units, reducing pulp usage by approximately 1,000 tons and achieving the effect of planting about 20,000 trees.

The Good series consists of value-consumption products that allow customers to engage in eco-friendly activities simultaneously with their purchase. The products are packaged in biodegradable plastic and use single-color (one-color) printing to minimize unnecessary ink usage. The Good Toilet Paper uses 100% non-fluorescent raw materials (PCMC) recycled from milk cartons instead of pulp, while the Good Mini Beauty Tissue and Kitchen Towel are made from 100% non-fluorescent natural pulp fabric.

Homeplus is launching a new product, the Good Sanitary Pad. This product is characterized by being made with 100% organic cotton covers without using superabsorbent polymer (SAP). It features an eco-friendly waterproof cover containing sugarcane components, and all processes are produced domestically, enabling stable quality control.

Homeplus is also conducting sanitary pad donations. They plan to donate approximately 16,000 Good Sanitary Pads to 15 regional child centers nationwide participating in educational support programs, helping underprivileged youth who have difficulty purchasing hygiene products in their daily lives.

A Homeplus representative stated, “The Good Sanitary Pad is a product that not only uses eco-friendly materials but also helps underprivileged groups, creating a virtuous cycle connecting companies, customers, the environment, and sharing. We will continue to leverage the characteristics of the distribution industry to develop good consumption products that customers can participate in and take the lead in sustainable management.”
