Kyung Hee University and KOTRA Sign MOU for Global Talent Development

[Asia Economy Reporter Gong Byung-sun] Kyung Hee University and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) have joined forces to foster global talent.

On the 7th, Kyung Hee University's Graduate School of International Studies and KOTRA announced that they signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on industry-academia cooperation linked to employment at KOTRA headquarters at 11 a.m. that day.

Through this collaboration, both institutions plan to develop a master's degree program in International Trade and Investment at the Graduate School of International Studies and cultivate talent needed by industries. They will conduct various lectures and seminars related to trade and investment and mutually exchange and cooperate on matters concerning industry-academia collaboration such as business plan preparation.

Furthermore, to facilitate practical application, overseas expansion business plans will be recognized as part of degree requirements. KOTRA will identify demand companies among its member firms that wish to receive business plans, and the business plans prepared by students before graduation will be evaluated by the companies, KOTRA, and the university. Based on the companies' final feedback, employment decisions will be made. If students are selected for KOTRA-supported projects, they will have the opportunity to learn trade practices and investment tasks on-site through connections between the university and companies.

Kim Jun-yeop, Dean of Kyung Hee University's Graduate School of International Studies, stated, "This holds great significance in terms of KOTRA's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) management and co-growth." He added, "We have established a foundation where companies, universities, and public institutions unite to nurture experts in international trade and investment and contribute to the national economy."
