Since being certified as a child-friendly city by the UNICEF Korea Committee in October last year to create a Goseong where all children can happily pursue their dreams, the county joined the Local Government Council to exchange information and communicate with other local governments promoting child-friendly cities.

Going forward, through mutual exchange with the Local Government Council, the county plans to implement the 10 components of a child-friendly city: ▲a dedicated organization for child rights ▲a child-friendly legal system ▲establishment of a child participation system ▲an independent child rights advocate ▲promotion and education of child rights ▲publication of a child budget report ▲investigation of child rights status ▲formulation of child-friendly city creation strategies ▲child impact assessments ▲and measures to ensure child safety.

County Governor Lee Sang-geun said, “Starting with the UNICEF child-friendly city certification, we will maintain the foundation established so far and do our best to make 2023 a year in which we achieve a child-friendly city that can provide practical help to children.”
