Unclaimed Prize Money... Payment Deadline Next Month 20th
The owner of the 2.7 billion KRW first prize lottery winnings has yet to come forward.
According to the lottery operator Donghaeng Lottery on the 7th, the claim period for the unclaimed prize of the 1007th lottery draw held on March 19 last year will expire on March 20.
Lottery winnings must be claimed within one year from the start date of payment. Once the deadline has passed, the prize cannot be claimed retroactively, and the funds are fully transferred to the national treasury (lottery fund) to be used for various public welfare projects, including improving welfare for vulnerable groups.
The amount of the first prize for this lottery is 2,718,786,375 KRW.
The winning numbers for the 1007th draw are '8, 11, 16, 19, 21, 25', and the ticket was purchased at a lottery retailer in Buk-gu, Busan.
Meanwhile, there have been cases where the actual winner did not claim the prize by the deadline, resulting in the lottery winnings reverting to the national treasury.
The 2 billion KRW first prize from the 998th lottery draw held on January 15 last year was ultimately returned to the lottery fund as the winner did not claim it.
