Seoul Digital Foundation 'Eodinajiwondan' Operated for 5 Consecutive Years

[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] The Seoul Digital Foundation announced on the 7th that it will operate the 'Eodina Support Group' and recruit 150 instructors with the aim of providing digital device utilization education without discrimination, exclusion, or disconnection (3 no's) amid the expansion of new non-face-to-face services such as Metaverse Seoul.

The 'Eodina Support Group' is a representative digital competency enhancement project of Seoul City that has been operating for five years since 2019, referring to instructors who provide education to seniors having difficulty using digital devices such as smartphones and kiosks.

The eligibility criteria for the 'Eodina Support Group' are ▲ Seoul residents aged 55 or older as per resident registration (born before April 1, 1968) those who have completed at least three COVID-19 vaccine doses and those who hold qualifications or activity records in digital-related fields.

The selected 'Eodina Support Group' members will work as digital education instructors for seniors in Seoul for nine months from April to December. They will conduct about 18 hours of educational activities per month at education centers in Seoul and receive an activity fee of 33,000 KRW per 90 minutes.

Additionally, two types of online educational content developed by the Seoul Digital Foundation can be used as teaching materials. Prepared are the EduTech Campus 'responsive e-learning content' and YouTube 'Eodina 5-Minute Class,' which allow seniors to practice and repeat lessons at home.

Those who wish to participate can submit an online application form by the 17th. Final candidates will be selected through eligibility screening > document screening > interview screening.

Gyang Yosik, Director of the Seoul Digital Foundation, said, “As digital transformation accelerates across society, some people may become marginalized,” adding, “The Seoul Digital Foundation will actively utilize the Eodina Support Group education to help seniors incorporate digital use into their daily lives so that all Seoul citizens can accompany each other as members of a digital society without discrimination or exclusion.”
