[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] On Tuesday the 7th, fine dust is forecast to be dense, especially in the western regions.

According to the National Institute of Environmental Research, on the 7th, fine dust levels in the Seoul metropolitan area, western Gangwon, Chungcheong, Honam, and Daegu are expected to be "bad."

In particular, Chungcheong and Jeonbuk may experience temporarily very bad fine dust levels in the morning. Among the other regions with moderate levels, eastern Gangwon, Ulsan, and Gyeongbuk will have fine dust levels reaching bad temporarily in the morning.

On the 6th, high-concentration fine dust emergency reduction measures were implemented in the Seoul metropolitan area and Sejong, and on the 7th, these measures will also be implemented in western Gangwon, Daejeon, Chungbuk, and Chungnam.

When emergency reduction measures are implemented, operating and working hours at workplaces and construction sites that emit a lot of fine dust are adjusted to reduce dust emissions. The frequency of street cleaning in urban areas will also increase. Additionally, according to each city and province's ordinance, the operation of grade 5 diesel vehicles will be restricted.

Temperatures on the 7th will remain 2 to 5 degrees higher than the average temperature for this time of year.

The lowest temperature on the morning of the 7th is expected to be between -4°C and 6°C, and the highest temperature during the day is expected to be between 5°C and 15°C. The daily temperature range will be large, exceeding 15 degrees, especially in the southern inland areas.

Seoul is expected to have a low of 0°C and a high of 10°C, Incheon 0°C and 7°C, Daejeon -3°C and 11°C, Gwangju 0°C and 14°C, Daegu -1°C and 12°C, Ulsan 2°C and 13°C, and Busan 6°C and 14°C.

In Jeju Island, the rain currently falling as of the afternoon of the 6th is expected to continue until early morning on the 7th. The expected additional rainfall is about 5 to 10 mm.

In eastern Gangwon, rain or snow will fall from late afternoon on the 7th until early morning on the 8th, and in the northern coastal area of Gyeongbuk, rain or snow will fall on the early morning of the 7th. The amount of precipitation is not large enough to significantly alleviate dryness.

Currently, dry weather warnings are in effect for eastern Gangwon, Jeonnam, and Yeongnam.
