"Child Wants to Sit by the Window" - Brawl on Brazilian Airplane

Family Fights... "Swearing and Screaming Everywhere"

A verbal dispute over not switching airplane seats in Brazil escalated into a physical fight between passengers.

Brazilian local media 'Aventura na Istoria' reported on the 3rd (local time) that a physical altercation occurred between passengers on a GOL Airlines flight preparing for takeoff at Salvador Airport in Bahia.

According to the media, the scuffle began when a female passenger asked a passenger sitting in a window seat if they could switch seats for her child with a disability.

When the passenger asked to give up the seat refused, the child's mother suddenly became angry, leading to a verbal argument. The female passengers then grabbed each other's hair and repeatedly slapped each other, escalating into a physical fight. They also shouted insults and screamed at each other.

Another passenger tried to climb over the seats to approach another passenger but was stopped by a flight attendant. One passenger struggled so violently that her top was nearly torn off.

The fight did not remain between the two women but spread into a family dispute. A flight attendant who witnessed the scene said, "One family had 5 members, the other had 10, and the two families were hitting each other and exchanging insults."

The flight bound for S?o Paulo was only able to depart after removing the involved parties, resulting in nearly a two-hour delay in takeoff.

The incident became a hot topic as videos taken by other passengers on board spread through social networking services (SNS).

After the situation was settled, GOL Airlines expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to passengers and emphasized, "GOL Airlines condemns all acts of violence, and flight attendants took appropriate measures to ensure safety, which is our top priority."
