The Italian women's magazine 'Donna Moderna (New Woman)' has attracted attention by publishing an article highlighting the advantages of Korean cuisine. It has been reported that interest in Korean culture, including Korean food, is increasing in Italy recently.


According to the Korea Foundation for International Cultural Exchange (KOFICE) on the 6th, the latest issue of Donna Moderna published an article titled "The Advantages of Korean Cuisine" on the 6th, stating that "Korean food is delicious, spicy, captivating, and also good for health."


The publication introduced Korean cuisine by saying, "Eating a plate of kimchi once or twice a week helps with sleep," and added, "Fermented kimchi promotes the immune system and sleep balance, allowing you to have radiant skin."

For those who have difficulty digesting red meat, it recommended Korean-style meat cooking methods. It also recommended traditional Korean snacks containing low-calorie red beans as healthy alternatives to cakes or gelato.


The media reported, "Korean cuisine entered the top 10 cooking trends in Italy in 2022," and added, "Spending time with friends at Korean restaurants is becoming popular in Italy."


This is not the first time Italian media have focused on Korean cuisine.


On the 30th of last month (local time), the Italian media 'Fanpage' reported the opening of a Korean restaurant in Naples.


'Fanpage' emphasized that the restaurant "is reportedly related to Korean food-related broadcasting programs," and that "Naples, a city with a strong food culture identity, was selected as the city to try 'Made in Korea' food."


Afterward, Fanpage also reported on the situation one day after the restaurant opened. The media introduced, "Curious Italians lined up in front of the restaurant to taste Asian food."
