"Shinpyeong's Remarks, Calls for President's Party Resignation if Approval Rating Drops"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Former Blue House Senior Secretary for Political Affairs Choi Jae-sung raised his voice, saying that the suspicion of the fortune teller 'Cheongong' being involved in the relocation of the presidential residence is highly likely to be true and that a state audit should be conducted.
Former Senior Secretary Choi said on the 6th on KBS's 'Choi Kyung-young's Strongest Current Affairs,' "The possibility of it being true is very high."
He said, "The setup itself involves several people appearing. There is former spokesperson Bu Seung-chan, then Chief of Staff Nam Young-shin, a non-commissioned officer, and also former spokesperson Bu overheard Chief Nam's story in the restroom, then separately confirmed and investigated it himself, during which anonymous figures also appeared." This suspicion surfaced after former spokesperson Bu revealed it in his book.
Former Senior Secretary Choi said that ultimately, the truth will be revealed by "Chief Nam's mouth," adding, "Those military personnel who conducted the actual investigation, those in the reporting line, and many others will eventually speak, so the Democratic Party should quickly push this to a state audit."
He emphasized, "Regardless of the truth, if this is true, it is a complete state manipulation," and "It involves security issues, presidential office protection issues, and various other matters, which are completely different from simply moving a family grave, relocating an ancestral tomb, or calling staff to arrange a private residence."
Regarding the recent mention of 'presidential party withdrawal' by President Yoon's mentor, lawyer Shin Pyung, he said, "President Yoon became president with little political experience. However, there is concern and fear that not only political issues but also policy matters are very impulsive," adding, "Although the talk of withdrawal or a new party might be considered, given President Yoon's political level, political experience, and actual political power, it is something he cannot do."
He further pointed out, "Because of that remark, if the president's support for state governance does not recover from the current situation and the president continues to make mistakes and lose public support, lawyer Shin's statement will ultimately serve as grounds for demands for the president's party withdrawal."
