Jomin "Couldn't Sleep a Wink Worrying About Father's Arrest"
"Will Continue Medical Volunteering Until Trial Ends"
On the 6th, Cho Min, the eldest daughter of former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk, revealed her face on a YouTube broadcast and stated, "I want to live openly as Cho Min, not just as Cho Kuk's daughter."
On this day, Cho appeared on the YouTube show "Humility is Hard - News Factory," hosted by broadcaster Kim Eo-jun, and said, "For the past four years, I have lived only as the daughter of former Minister Cho Kuk, but watching my father receive a prison sentence made me deeply reflect on whether I am living with integrity or not."
She continued, "I am confident. I have lived without shame," emphasizing, "I have now decided to live proudly."
She criticized, "Over the past four years, the prosecution, media, and political circles have treated our family very harshly," and added, "I want to ask whether they apply the same standards to themselves and their own families."

She also revealed her feelings during the time her parents were involved in legal battles. When her mother, former Dongyang University professor Jeong Gyeong-shim, was incarcerated, she confessed, "It was really hard. I believe this would not have happened if my father had not held the ministerial position."
When asked if she was worried about the possibility of former Minister Cho's imprisonment, she replied, "If even my father were imprisoned, I would be the most..." and added, "I couldn't sleep a wink."
She also shared her future plans. Regarding the possibility of practicing medicine abroad if her medical license is revoked, she said, "There were kind people who actually offered to help, but I don't want to run away," emphasizing, "I am confident in myself. Although sometimes the media makes it difficult, I will live well in Korea in my own way."
When Kim asked, "You have been practicing medicine for two years. Do senior doctors comment on your skills as a doctor?" Cho answered, "I have heard that I am sufficiently qualified."
However, she stated that she currently has no plans to work at a hospital. Cho said, "I have decided not to work at a hospital anymore because I don't want to cause harm," and added, "Until the trial related to me is over, I will only use my medical knowledge for medical volunteer work."
She further emphasized, "Until the trial is over, I will travel, visit good restaurants, use social networking services (SNS), and do all the ordinary things everyone does," reiterating, "I will no longer hide."

Meanwhile, in April last year, Cho was expelled from the Medical School of Pusan National University (PNU) and Korea University. Since then, Cho has filed an administrative lawsuit to cancel the expulsion at the national university Pusan National University and a civil lawsuit at the private university Korea University.
However, Cho has not appeared in court in person since the first hearing of the Pusan National University administrative lawsuit on June 9 of last year. The court plans to conduct witness questioning of the plaintiff Cho at the trial scheduled for March 16, and if Cho appears on that day, it will be her first appearance in court.
