[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province's '2nd Red Team' held its first meeting on the 1st and officially began its activities. The Red Team is an organization within the Gyeonggi Provincial Government that plays the role of critically reviewing the provincial administration from the perspective of residents and proposing constructive alternatives.
The 2nd Red Team consists of a total of 10 members, excluding the team leader and deputy team leader. Through an internal recruitment process, 23 people applied, and 6 young employees at grade 6 or below were selected (4 from the provincial government and 2 from public institutions). The remaining 4 members were reselected from outstanding performers of the 1st Red Team to ensure continuity of activities.
Team Leader Lee Young-joo explained, "Many people reapplied during the recruitment for the 2nd Red Team," adding, "We selected members by evenly considering affiliation, department, job series, and age to hear more and diverse opinions."
Unlike the 1st Red Team, which met biweekly for in-depth activities, the 2nd Red Team communicates once a month.
The activities will continue until June, focusing on social issues, provincial administration matters affecting residents, and free topics, proposing alternatives from a critical perspective.
Additionally, to discover various agenda items, issues requiring discussion on the Gyeonggi Provincial Residents' Petition Board will also be reviewed as Red Team agenda items from the residents' perspective.
Team Leader Lee Young-joo expressed, "I hope young employees will bring about a pleasant rebellion with new ideas from the residents' perspective and play a role in changing the provincial administration," and urged, "I hope the Red Team quietly walks the path of believing in change and helping bring about change."
