[Joining One Day Ten Thousand Steps, One Day One Thousand Characters] Lee Chang-yong, Governor of the Bank of Korea

[Joining One Day Ten Thousand Steps, One Day One Thousand Characters] Lee Chang-yong, Governor of the Bank of Korea

We sincerely support the 2023 Asia Economy National Brain Health Project campaign and wish health and happiness to all our people in the Year of the Rabbit.

According to the '2021 Life Table' announced by Statistics Korea at the end of last year, the life expectancy of Koreans is 83.6 years, an increase of 7.6 years compared to 2000 and 3.4 years compared to 2010. As life expectancy increases and the era of living to 100 years is approaching, how healthily one lives has become more important than how long one lives.

Walking 'Harumanbo' (10,000 steps a day) is the best exercise that can be easily practiced in daily life. The Bank of Korea has also been conducting non-face-to-face sports events such as 'walking more than 50,000 steps in 10 days' to promote employees' health after COVID-19. Writing 'Harucheonja' (1,000 characters a day) not only improves concentration and cognitive ability but also greatly benefits mental health.

Through this campaign, we hope that the people can lead physically and mentally healthy lives and successfully welcome the era of living to 100 years.
