[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education announced that on the 8th at 3 PM, it will hold a live college entrance exam briefing titled "Understanding and Preparing for the 2024 Sen Admission Process" on the YouTube channel "Seoul Education SsamTV," hosted by the Education Research Information Center.

Changing 2024 College Admissions... Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education to Hold Briefing on the 8th

The 2024 college entrance exam is expected to see changes in the reflection methods of school records, such as the abolition of self-introduction letters and the non-reflection of awards and reading activities. Additionally, due to the integrated CSAT (College Scholastic Ability Test) that started in the 2022 academic year, high school seniors inevitably face many concerns regarding subject selection.

Accordingly, the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education has prepared lectures on two topics to help students, parents, and high school senior academic advisors appropriately respond to these changes in the college entrance environment.

The briefing will be conducted as a live YouTube broadcast with a Q&A format, allowing participants to resolve their questions through real-time comments alongside the instructor's explanations.

Furthermore, the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education will distribute six teacher-use videos titled "2024 College Entrance, Early Year Academic Guidance" and one teacher-use booklet titled "2024 College Entrance, Early Year Academic Guidance Materials" by early February. These materials can be used during the new academic year preparation period and parent meetings at high schools in Seoul.

The related materials will be posted on the Seoul Career and College Information Center website on the 10th and will be available not only to teachers but also to examinees and parents.

Experienced current teachers from the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education’s College Admission Guidance Support Group, who have rich experience in academic guidance, participated in the production of the early year academic guidance support briefing, videos, and booklet. The materials contain essential information to prepare for the college entrance process based on the 2024 university-specific admission plans.

As the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education faces rapid changes in the college entrance environment, it expects that providing briefings, videos, and booklets for student academic guidance will enhance trust in customized public education student guidance.
