[Asia Economy Reporter Gong Byung-sun] Kim Ki-hyun and Ahn Cheol-soo, candidates for the leadership of the People Power Party, have advanced to the preliminary party representative election.
On the 5th, the People Power Party's March 8th National Convention Election Commission (Election Commission) announced the list of six candidates for party representative and thirteen candidates for supreme council member who passed the preliminary screening. The six party representative candidates are Kim Ki-hyun, Ahn Cheol-soo, Yoon Sang-hyun, Cho Kyung-tae, Chun Ha-ram, and Hwang Kyo-ahn. The thirteen supreme council member candidates include Kim Byung-min, Kim Yong-tae, Kim Jae-won, Moon Byung-ho, Min Young-sam, Park Sung-joong, Lee Man-hee, Lee Yong, Jung Mi-kyung, Cho Soo-jin, Chun Kang-jung, Tae Young-ho, and Heo Eun-ah.
Election Commission spokesperson Bae Jun-young stated in a briefing that all candidates for the youth supreme council member were granted eligibility to advance to the preliminary election.
The preliminary election will be conducted by holding a vision presentation on the 7th, followed by a public opinion survey targeting 6,000 people on the 8th and 9th. The Election Commission plans to announce the final candidates advancing to the main election on the 10th, including four party representative candidates, eight supreme council member candidates, and four youth supreme council member candidates.
