Kim Yong-tae "Jung Jin-seok Should Clarify Facts Through Ethics Committee and Party Audit"

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hyun-joo] Former People Power Party leader Lee Jun-seok and Kim Yong-tae, a candidate for the Supreme Council member in the March 8 party convention, have been continuously criticizing the 'possibility of President Yoon Seok-yeol founding a new party' mentioned by lawyer Shin Pyung.

On the 5th, former leader Lee posted on his Facebook, saying, "Mr. Shin Pyung caused a controversy yesterday and today is making even more serious statements in a follow-up interview," adding, "He is testifying that the President had thoughts of leaving the People Power Party since the time he was a presidential candidate or even before."

On the same day, lawyer Shin said in an interview with OhmyNews, "President Yoon had doubts about whether he should continue to be part of the People Power Party from the time he was a candidate or even before."

Former leader Lee shared the article and said, "He is expressing this not as his own thought but as President Yoon Seok-yeol's thought," adding, "If the President really had such thoughts during the presidential election, it is a huge scandal. I thought it was a slip of the tongue or a misunderstanding, but it is becoming more concrete."

He continued, "He is even talking about a political realignment through former leader Kim Han-gil," and questioned, "Is he revealing a foretold truth or is he delusional?"

Kim Yong-tae, the Supreme Council member candidate, also called it a "clear insult to party members," and said, "Emergency Response Committee Chairman Jeong Jin-seok should mobilize all available organizations, whether the Ethics Committee or the Party Affairs Audit Committee, to investigate the party member insult incident involving Kim Ki-hyun candidate's support chairman and clarify the facts."

Kim criticized, "The Presidential Office also seems to need to clearly state its position on this serious matter," adding, "If lawyer Shin's words are correct, was the dedication of countless party members who worked for President Yoon Seok-yeol's election during the presidential campaign for a candidate who does not even trust the party?"
