Fishing Boat Registered in Incheon Capsizes off Sinan... Incheon City "Doing Our Best to Support Accident Recovery"

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] After the Incheon-registered fishing vessel 'Cheongboho' carrying 12 people capsized off the coast of Sinan, Jeollanam-do, Incheon City has stepped in to support the accident response.


On the 5th, Incheon City began operating an accident response headquarters led by the Director of the Marine Aviation Bureau, and held an emergency situation review meeting attended by Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok to discuss response measures.


At the meeting, Mayor Yoo said, "I am very sorry that the fishing vessel capsizing accident occurred, and I hope the crew members are rescued quickly. Since the vessel is registered in Incheon, we will swiftly assess the situation and do our best to cooperate at the city level."


The city plans to send one public official to Sinan County Office in Jeollanam-do as an on-site manager to assist with accident response and review additional support measures.


Earlier, at around 11:19 p.m. the previous day, the 24-ton trap fishing vessel Cheongboho, registered in Incheon, capsized 9 nautical miles west of Daebichi Island, Imja-myeon, Sinan County, Jeollanam-do. Of the 12 crew members on board, 3 were rescued and 9 are missing.
