A was tried on charges of withdrawing 70,000 won three times from an account linked to a cash card in the name of B, his girlfriend's father, in Pohang, Gyeongbuk, in July last year. While visiting B, who was detained in a police station jail with his girlfriend's family, A overheard the card password that B had told his wife to manage the money, remembered it, and committed the crime.

In addition, from late July to mid-August of the same year, A is also accused of stealing about 1 million won in cash, gift certificates worth 330,000 won, 500 US dollars, four wallets, and one credit card from unlocked cars while roaming the apartment parking lot in Andong, Gyeongbuk, 15 times. He also committed thefts during the same period, including stealing a mobile phone worth 1.25 million won owned by B in Pohang, as well as taking a branded bag worth about 30,000 won and a delivery box containing a thermos placed at the entrance door of a local apartment.

During the trial, it was revealed that A had been sentenced to prison more than three times in the past for theft and committed theft again during the recidivism period. Judge Song pointed out, "The defendant repeatedly reoffended during the recidivism period despite having a history of multiple punishments, including imprisonment, for similar crimes. Most of the damages have not been restored, and the victims have not forgiven him." Regarding the sentencing, he added, "Even considering that the defendant admits his wrongdoing and shows remorse, a prison sentence is inevitable."
