The 12th Criminal Division of the Seoul Eastern District Court (Chief Judge Lee Jong-chae) sentenced 41-year-old Jeon to 10 years in prison and ordered him to wear an electronic location tracking device for 10 years, according to a News1 report on the 4th. The charge was attempted robbery-murder after he wielded a weapon to snatch items from a female victim at a one-person hair salon in Songpa-gu, Seoul, last November.

Jeon confirmed through an online reservation system that Ms. A was alone at the time and attempted the crime, but it ended in failure due to the victim’s resistance.

Previously, Jeon was sentenced to 7 years in prison in 2010 for committing special robbery and rape against three women. At that time as well, he targeted women working alone in places like skin care clinics or hair salons.

The court stated, "The defendant’s adult recidivism risk assessment tool (KORAS-G) score was 17, indicating a high risk of reoffending, and the overall risk of recidivism was evaluated as medium to high. Considering that contact with family is almost severed and taking all circumstances into account, it is judged that the defendant poses a risk of committing robbery crimes again."
