US Department of Defense: "Another Chinese Reconnaissance Balloon Passing Over Latin American Airspace"

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] The United States recently announced on the 4th (Korean time) that another Chinese reconnaissance balloon is passing over Central and South America, following the entry of a suspected Chinese reconnaissance balloon into the mainland.

On the same day, CNN cited a statement sent by U.S. Department of Defense spokesperson Air Force Brigadier General Patrick Ryder to report this.

Spokesperson Ryder said, "We have received reports of a balloon passing over Latin America. Currently, we assess that this is another reconnaissance balloon."

Although it is unclear exactly where in Central and South America this balloon is passing, CNN reported that it does not appear to be heading toward the United States at this time.
