During Construction, Ground Suddenly Gives Way... 3 People Fall in Changwon Hyeondong

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] At around 11:57 a.m. on the 3rd, three workers who were working on the parking lot construction at an apartment construction site in Hyeondong, Masanhappo-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam, fell when the parking lot roof collapsed.

According to the Changwon Fire Headquarters, while pouring concrete at the above-ground parking lot construction site, the parking lot formwork collapsed, causing three of the eleven workers to fall to the first basement level.

The workers were trapped under collapsed pipes and were rescued by dispatched firefighters and transported to the hospital.

At the scene, 11 vehicles including rescue and ambulance vehicles, 27 firefighters, and 4 police officers were deployed.

The workers complained of pain in their ribs, shoulders, and legs and are receiving treatment at the hospital, with no known life-threatening injuries.

The police and fire authorities plan to investigate the exact cause of the accident based on witness statements and other evidence.
