Selected as the Best Brand in South Korea for Specialty Products
[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shim Jeong-woo] Jeonnam Goheung-gun (Governor Gong Young-min) announced that Goheung Yuja and Pomegranate have achieved the great feat of winning the Grand Prize for five consecutive years at the ‘2023 Consumer-Selected Best Brand Awards’ ceremony hosted by JoongAng Ilbo and Forbes Korea.
The Consumer-Selected Brand Awards were announced after JoongAng Ilbo and Forbes Korea evaluated the value of brands in various fields together with consumer and expert groups from October last year. A total of 54 institutions and companies, and 60 brands including finance, distribution, education, and local governments were selected.

Now in its 12th year, this event is a prestigious brand award hosted and organized by JoongAng Ilbo and Forbes Korea, and supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and JTBC.
Goheung Yuja was highly evaluated for its status as a global yuja production area, ranking first in domestic production volume, competitiveness as an export agricultural product, and consumer brand awareness such as Geographical Indication No. 14.
Goheung Pomegranate was also recognized as the largest production area nationwide, designated as Geographical Indication No. 94, and evaluated as a trusted product by consumers through the establishment of the nation’s best pomegranate production and processing system including technical guidance, purchase, and processing sales by the Goheung Pomegranate Eco-friendly Cooperative.
Governor Gong Young-min said, “The great achievement of winning the 2023 Consumer-Selected Best Brand Award for five consecutive years is the result of all our efforts.” He added, “As consumer interest in Goheung Yuja and Goheung Pomegranate has increased, we will strengthen promotional marketing to make them more accessible and do our best to pioneer domestic and international market channels so that Goheung Yuja and Pomegranate can establish themselves as global brand foods.”
