In anticipation of the onsite inspection by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) this April, a message promoting the citizens of Busan’s wish to host the 2030 Busan World Expo will be displayed on the outer wall of the Busan City Hall.

Busan City announced that from April to May, for about four months, the ‘2030 Busan World Expo promotional message’ will be posted on the exterior wall of Busan City Hall.

This promotional message was prepared to spread the citizens’ earnest desire for the 2030 Busan World Expo, whose hosting decision will be made this November, across the entire Republic of Korea and to create a nationwide atmosphere of support centered on Busan, ahead of the BIE onsite inspection scheduled from April 3 to 7.

The phrase used is ‘2030 EXPO BUSAN JUST ARRIVED,’ meaning ‘The 2030 Busan World Expo has just arrived,’ utilizing the design of an airport flip board.

It conveys a welcome to the onsite inspection team taking their first step in Korea and signifies that the World Expo will come to Busan in 2030.

Jo Yujang, head of the 2030 Expo Promotion Headquarters in Busan, said, “The BIE onsite inspection this April is a crucial and essential procedure for hosting the 2030 Busan World Expo and a golden opportunity to fully showcase the charm of Busan as the candidate city.” He added, “We ask for nationwide interest and enthusiastic support for the 2030 Busan World Expo, which will lead the world’s great transformation.”

The host city for the 2030 World Expo will be decided through secret ballots by BIE member countries following the 4th competitive presentation in June and the 5th competitive presentation in November.
