Devoted Solely to the Path of Hometown Love and Service
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Wook] Kim Tae-myeong, chairman of Ribera Development and a potential candidate for the April 5 election for Changnyeong County Governor in Gyeongnam, put an end to the speculation about his candidacy by stating, “I am a volunteer and have no intention of running for county governor.”
In a text message sent to acquaintances on the afternoon of the 3rd, Chairman Kim said, “I understand that many discussions are taking place regardless of my position, as the people of Changnyeong County have gathered their will to recommend me as a candidate for the by-election,” adding, “I am grateful for the support and love from the residents, which has come from my pure devotion and affection for my hometown over many years, but connecting this to politics is against my heart.” He denied the rumors of running for county governor.
Chairman Kim said, “The idea that this path (of service and affection for my hometown) is connected to politics is against my heart, and since I have no intention of walking that path myself, I feel even heavier in my heart.”
He continued, “I sincerely thank those who have formed ties with me and supported me,” and said, “My love for Changnyeong residents and my hometown will remain eternal, and I will live more humbly, looking after those in difficult circumstances around me.”
