The provincial Office of Education also stated that it will change the school autonomous selection system to a school-level autonomous curriculum operation.
Moving away from the existing public recruitment method of the Office of Education, schools will autonomously select and operate the projects they need, expanding the support targets to all kindergartens, elementary, middle, and high schools, with the budget supported through the school basic operating expenses.
The school basic operating expenses will be allocated and distributed at 386.2 billion KRW, a 12.56% increase compared to last year.
Among local autonomous regulations, 153 ordinances that do not fit the administrative environment, lack effectiveness, or are similar/duplicated will also be comprehensively revised.
The collaboration system and professional capabilities between the provincial Office of Education and the Education Support Office’s School Integration Support Centers will also be strengthened.
Policy Planning Officer Lee Kyung-gu said, “This year, we must proactively anticipate future education demands amid social changes such as COVID-19 and respond calmly and meticulously. The entire educational community will strive to nurture future talents with the attitude that Gyeongnam education leads education in our country.”
