The international standard ISO19650 certifies that BIM, which digitalizes all project information from bidding to design and construction in fields such as architecture and infrastructure, is being practically utilized in accordance with international standards.
To receive this certification, compliance with BIM guidelines and the establishment of processes must be verified through internal document audits, and it must be confirmed through inspections and assessments that ongoing projects are utilizing BIM according to the standards.
A GS Engineering & Construction official stated, "We will establish company-wide BIM processes and engage in BIM-based 3D design and smart construction using advanced technologies throughout construction business projects," adding, "Through this, we aim to secure technological competitiveness."
Meanwhile, GS Engineering & Construction is utilizing BIM in bidding, design, and construction management at architectural, infrastructure, and plant sites. Going forward, the company plans to expand BIM application to new domestic and overseas sites by linking it with core technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution, such as drones and IoT sensors.
