Held by the Haman Stream in Gaya-eup, Including Traditional Folk Games
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Haman-gun, Gyeongnam Province, will hold the 20th Daljip Burning Festival on the 5th in celebration of Jeongwol Daeboreum.
The county announced that this year's Jeongwol Daeboreum event, which had been halted due to the large-scale spread of COVID-19, will be held by the Hamancheon Stream in Gaya-eup.
The Daljip Burning will take place from 1 PM to 7 PM on the day, featuring traditional folk games such as rice cake pounding experience and tasting, Neolttwigi (Korean seesaw), Yutnori (traditional board game), and Jegichagi (shuttlecock kicking).
Before the Daljip Burning starts around 5:50 PM, a traditional ritual and opening ceremony will be held, followed by a Nongak Daedongnori performance by the Pungmul band Cheong-eum and a Ganggangsullae performance by the Haman Gugak Association.

To prevent forest fires caused by the event, special measures have been established and an emergency system has been activated.
The county and the towns and townships have set up a Special Forest Fire Prevention Headquarters to strengthen patrols, and forest fire prevention specialists and local forest fire watchers will be deployed near the Daljip Burning event site.
They plan to monitor forest fire situations in real-time using information and communication technologies such as unmanned surveillance cameras installed in major mountains and fire-prone areas, forest fire video systems, and forest fire situation control systems.
To minimize casualties and property damage caused by forest fires, a solid cooperation system with related organizations such as fire stations, military units, and police stations will also be established.
A county official said, "We hope many residents will attend the Daljip Burning event to experience various folk games and enjoy our traditional holiday," adding, "Please refrain from playing with Jwibulnori or flying sky lanterns as sparks can easily spread, and report any forest fires immediately."
