[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, is conducting a pilot operation of the ‘IP Video and Audio System’ that broadcasts real-time information on district administration and the activities of the council sessions.
Starting this month, Nam-gu has installed a video transmission server in the communication room of the government building and broadcasts to set-top boxes at 17 administrative welfare centers.
Through TVs installed at the administrative welfare centers, residents can access various district information delivered via video, audio, and images, and can also watch the council members’ activities in real time during sessions of the Nam-gu Council.
This is especially meaningful as it realizes real-time triangular communication among administrative agencies, resident representative bodies, and community members.
It is expected to fulfill the right to know by promptly delivering various information and opinions through proactive administration.
Nam-gu will conduct the pilot operation until the 15th of this month and plans to check for any issues with video quality and audio transmission during this period.
A Nam-gu official stated on the 2nd, “We will realize district administration that actively communicates with local residents so that all 220,000 residents can lead better lives.”
