Geumcheon-gu Holds 2023 Visiting Neighborhood New Year's Greeting Event
From February 1 to 7, Visits to 10 Neighborhoods, Collecting Residents' Opinions by Visiting Key Facilities and Civil Complaint Sites
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yuseonghun, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, will strengthen communication with residents by holding the '2023 Visiting Neighborhood New Year's Greeting Event' from February 1 to 7, visiting neighborhoods to exchange New Year's greetings and listen to residents' opinions.
The '2023 Visiting Neighborhood New Year's Greeting Event' was prepared to move away from the traditional method of gathering in the neighborhood community center auditorium and instead enter residents' daily lives to closely examine local issues and reflect their opinions.
Mayor Yuseonghun will visit key facilities in each neighborhood such as senior centers, welfare centers, and cultural centers to meet with residents and listen to their suggestions and opinions.
Starting with Gasan-dong on February 1 and ending with Doksan 2-dong on February 7, the event will cover one neighborhood in the morning and another in the afternoon each day. The focus will be on natural communication with residents through participation in senior centers, local children's centers, and resident autonomy programs. Additionally, various opinions will be collected through luncheon meetings with resident representatives and tea meetings with neighborhood community center staff.
In particular, Gasan-dong will visit sponsor companies located in G-Valley, Doksan 1-dong will visit the livestock market, and Doksan 3-dong will visit Moduui School to carefully listen to major local suggestions. Doksan 2-dong, Siheung 1-dong, and 5-dong, which are densely populated with private houses, will focus on communication with residents by visiting sharing stores participating in community support, local children's centers, and households caring for vulnerable neighbors.
Geumcheon-gu plans to carefully review the residents' opinions received during the Visiting Neighborhood New Year's Greeting Event and reflect them in district administration.
Mayor Yuseonghun of Geumcheon-gu expressed his ambition, saying, "Starting with this 'Visiting Neighborhood New Year's Greeting Event,' we will continue to focus on communication with residents and carry out administration that resonates with them."
