TIPS Operator New Paradigm "Investing 10 Billion Won in Early Startups This Year"

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] New Paradigm Investment, the operator of TIPS, announced on the 1st that it will invest 10 billion KRW in early-stage startups this year. The plan is to pursue new investments in 15 early-stage startups and follow-up investments in more than 10 companies.

To this end, New Paradigm is recruiting participants for the 'Baby Unicorn Growth Program.' Through the Baby Unicorn Growth Program, it will select and nurture 15 promising startups annually in the fields of the 4th Industrial Revolution, including ICT, digital healthcare, commerce, and metaverse, and invest in them.

Last year, a total of 600 companies applied for the Baby Unicorn Growth Program, and 13 were finally selected after overcoming a competition ratio of 46:1. The planned investment amount for this year reaches 10 billion KRW, with the goal of pursuing new investments in 15 companies and follow-up investments in more than 10 companies.

Park Je-hyun, CEO of New Paradigm, said, "Last year, all the startup teams we recommended were selected for the TIPS program," and added, "We hope for active participation and support from startups that wish to grow rapidly into baby unicorns."

The recruitment field for startups in the first half of the year will focus on companies with deep tech technologies, prioritizing early-stage startups with a corporate value within 5 billion KRW that have early growth indicators. Applications can be submitted through the New Paradigm website until the end of April.
