[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] The 51st presidential election of the Korea Publishing Culture Association will be a two-way contest.
According to the Publishing Association, two candidates have been confirmed following the deadline for candidate registration and the drawing of lots for ballot numbers. Candidate number 1 is Kwon Hyukjae, CEO of Hakyeon Munhwasa (former chairman of the Korea Publishing Cooperative), and candidate number 2 is Yoon Cheolho, CEO of Social Review Co., Ltd. (current president of the Korea Publishing Culture Association).

The presidential election will be held at 2 p.m. on the 22nd of next month during the 79th regular general meeting of the Publishing Association at Yonsei University Alumni Hall. Voting will be conducted by 434 out of 715 member companies that have fully paid their membership fees in the last six months. One-third of the participants will elect the president by majority vote. The term of office is three years.
Additionally, five candidates have run for the screening committee: Song Minwoo (English Egg), Ahn Sangjun (Pakyoungsa), Kim Seonsik (Dasan Books), Park Yongsu (MyDepot), and Kwak Misun (Hanullim). The screening committee members have the right to recommend directors.
For auditors, two candidates have run: Noh Hyun (PY Mate) and Yoo Jaeok (Somi Media). Since the number of candidates for the screening committee and auditors is within the prescribed limit set by the bylaws, they will be elected without a vote.
