A Chinese crane manufacturing company made headlines by stacking a 2-meter-high pile of cash and distributing performance bonuses to its employees.

According to the South China Morning Post (SCMP) on the 30th (local time), 'Henan Mine,' a crane manufacturer headquartered in Henan Province, China, paid out 61 million yuan (approximately 11.1 billion KRW) in performance bonuses to employees at this year's opening ceremony held on the 17th.

The company attracted attention by posting a video of the ceremony directly on social media (SNS). According to the video, employees stacked piles of 100-yuan bills about 2 meters high and then took their performance bonuses in cash.

On that day, a total of 40 employees received their performance bonuses in cash. The top three employees who received the highest bonuses were all from the sales department, each receiving 5 million yuan (approximately 920 million KRW) entirely in cash. Among the new employees, the one who received the highest bonus was reported to have received 350,000 yuan (approximately 64 million KRW).

Mr. Feng, a sales representative in his 40s and one of the 'top sellers,' explained in an interview with local media, "I can't specify exactly how many units need to be sold to receive this much," but added, "However, last year, three of our employees each achieved sales worth hundreds of millions of dollars. One of them sold 300 million dollars (approximately 368.2 billion KRW)."

Additionally, during the event, a competition was held where employees who counted the proposed 100-yuan bills within a designated time could take all the cash. It is reported that the company spent about 12 million yuan (approximately 2.2 billion KRW) in prize money for this event alone.

Meanwhile, despite the economic slowdown in China, Henan Mine has recorded double-digit growth in recent years and reported total sales of 9.16 billion yuan (approximately 1.6666 trillion KRW) last year.
