The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs conducted a comprehensive evaluation of 11 city and provincial support centers responsible for rural convergence industry certified businesses, assessing eight categories including certification evaluation, post-management, on-site coaching, antenna shops, and distribution channel sales platform performance.

Jeonnam Province received excellent evaluations as it had the highest number of rural convergence certified management entities nationwide with 400 locations last year, and sales through antenna shops such as Gwangju Shinsegae Department Store increased by 2.3 billion KRW from 4.4 billion KRW in 2021 to 6.7 billion KRW.

Additionally, it ranked first in professional consultations and on-site coaching (514 cases), center project fund execution rate, and the outstanding award won by Damyang Hangwa (Myeongjin Food) at the national excellent case competition also contributed to the success.

Due to these achievements, the project fund for ‘Rural Convergence Industry Revitalization’ was also secured as the largest in the nation at 1.4 billion KRW.

Kim Youngrok, Governor of Jeonnam Province, said, “Achieving first place nationwide for three consecutive years in the rural convergence industry performance evaluation clearly demonstrates that Jeonnam agriculture is leading the transition to a high value-added industry. We will systematically foster a successful model of rural convergence industry centered on eco-friendly production, processing, and experiential tourism.”
