An Innovation Committee Formed to Lead Gyeonggi Tourism

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The 'Gyeonggi Tourism Innovation Committee,' which will lead the innovation of tourism in Gyeonggi Province, has been launched.

On the afternoon of the 30th, Gyeonggi Tourism Organization held the 1st Gyeonggi Tourism Innovation Committee meeting at the new building of the Gyeonggi Human Resources Development Institute in Jangan-gu, Suwon, to establish a foundation for innovative growth in Gyeonggi tourism and build an innovation ecosystem, the organization announced on the 31st.

The Gyeonggi Tourism Innovation Committee will be responsible for reforming the business structure, promotion system, and working methods of the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, improving laws and systems in the tourism sector, and providing tourism policy consulting to create a fair tourism industry environment.

Going forward, through regular meetings, the committee will conduct various discussions for innovation in the tourism sector and produce tangible results.

On this day, the committee appointed a total of 12 members, including ex officio member Cho Won-yong, president of the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, and 11 external members from eight fields such as institution management, public relations marketing, festivals and events, accounting, and law.

The chairman was appointed as Professor Han Beom-su of the Department of Tourism Development at Gyeonggi University.

Chairman Han Beom-su emphasized, "This is a time when strategic changes are needed to respond to changes in tourism patterns and tourists' demands after COVID-19," adding, "We will actively reflect the opinions of experts from each field of the Innovation Committee to create innovations that will practically help Gyeonggi tourism."
