[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The National Gwangju Science Museum is hosting a science camp for teenagers during the winter vacation.
First, the environmental camp consists of "Am I Threatening the Green Earth?" and "New Discoveries of Plastic," providing experiential educational activities to raise awareness of the importance of the environment.
Any student from 3rd to 6th grade in elementary school can participate, and applications can be made on a first-come, first-served basis through the science museum's website.
The non-residential environmental camp will be held in two sessions: Session 1 (February 8-9) and Session 2 (February 15-16), with recruitment open until February 2 and 9, respectively.
The 'Family Camp' is a 1-night, 2-day residential program where families stay overnight at the science museum to strengthen family bonds.
The camp program includes astronomy-themed educational activities such as "Moon Exploration through Coding" and "Fly Aero Rocket," along with direct observation of the winter night sky through the 1.2M main telescope and high-performance astronomical telescopes at the Starlight Observatory.
Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until February 9, and any family of 2 to 6 members including at least one elementary school-aged child can participate.
