Violation of Narcotics Control Act
Police Investigate After Additional Recognition of Quasi-Rape Charge
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] The Suseo Police Station in Seoul announced on the 31st that a man suspected of secretly drugging a woman’s drink with narcotics has been arrested.
Kim Sangwoo, the chief judge in charge of warrants at the Seoul Central District Court, issued an arrest warrant the previous day for a man in his 30s, identified as Mr. A, on suspicion of violating the Narcotics Control Act, citing concerns that he might destroy evidence or flee.
Mr. A is accused of taking drugs at a hotel in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, around 11:50 a.m. on the 28th, and secretly drugging the drink of a woman in her 30s, identified as Ms. B, who was with him.
Ms. B reported to 119 that "it seems something was added to my drink," and police, responding with the cooperation of the fire department, promptly arrested Mr. A at the scene.
Both tested positive in a rapid drug test. Narcotics suspected substances and drug administration equipment were reportedly found at the scene.
Meanwhile, police are reportedly investigating Mr. A on additional charges of quasi-rape.
