SK Hynix Eases Mandatory Mask-Wearing Policy Within Company

Conducted Autonomously by Members Following Government Guidelines

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Pyeonghwa] SK Hynix announced on the 30th that, following government guidelines, it will leave mask-wearing in all internal spaces to the discretion of its members. However, mask-wearing will remain mandatory in infection-vulnerable facilities such as the company hospital and pharmacy, as well as on public transportation including commuter buses.

SK Hynix will remove 50% of the droplet barriers installed in the company cafeteria to restore the cafeteria as a place for member interaction. Other safety measures in different facilities will also be gradually reduced to the pre-COVID-19 state. In addition, in-house training, which had restrictions on the number of participants and training formats, will be conducted face-to-face. Events that invited family members and acquaintances of employees will also resume to strengthen a family-friendly corporate culture.

Earlier, the government implemented guidelines from this day forward that change indoor mask-wearing from mandatory to recommended in all places except certain facilities such as hospitals and public transportation. SK Hynix expects that this easing of guidelines will enhance communication and collaboration among its members. An SK Hynix official said, “We hope that organic communication and collaboration within the company will become the driving force for overcoming the downturn and achieving greater leaps forward.”
