Dongdaemun-gu Mayor Ilhyung Lee Consoles Residents at Apartment in Cheongnyangni Affected by Boiler Pipe Freeze
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] On the afternoon of the 29th, Ilhyung Lee, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, visited an apartment in Cheongnyangni-dong where a boiler pipe freeze accident occurred to console residents exposed to the cold.
Mayor Lee, who visited the affected apartment, toured the site and met with residents to offer words of comfort. He later met with the representatives of the tenants to discuss support for damage recovery and the prompt promotion of reconstruction.
Mayor Ilhyung Lee of Dongdaemun-gu said, “As the mayor, I feel deeply sorry for not being able to protect your happy daily lives from the winter cold,” adding, “We will actively review with the relevant departments whether there are any areas where the district office can provide support for damage recovery and prevention of recurrence.”
The district confirmed through work communications that, after an emergency inspection of damage caused by the cold wave, no additional damage beyond the affected apartment was found.

On the morning of the 29th, Hogwon Choi, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, attended the 47th New Year ceremony of the Yeongdeungpo-gu Munil Football Club held at Eoksai 1 Ground in Anyangcheon.

On the morning of the 29th, Gangsu Park, Mayor of Mapo-gu, attended the Mapo-gu Football Association New Year ceremony held at Mangwon Yusuji Sports Park in Mapo-gu, encouraging football club members and praying for a safe 2023.
The ceremony was attended by a total of 130 people, including about 100 association officials and 30 guests, and proceeded with the national anthem, guest introductions, New Year greetings, and a prayer ceremony.
