Hyundai Department Store announced on the 29th that it will launch an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot consultation service called 'Jelppo'.


Jelppo is a 24/7 AI-based one-on-one customer consultation service that provides guidance related to Hyundai Department Store and its official online mall, The Hyundai.com. It offers information on shopping benefits, pop-up stores, newly opened brands at each Hyundai Department Store branch, as well as services such as pre-payment for parking, online product order tracking, and delivery status.


To differentiate from typical AI chatbot services, it also features lifestyle content and chat consultation functions. Through Jelppo, users can access content produced by Hyundai Department Store, including videos from the official Hyundai Department Store YouTube channel and StyleH, its own fashion and lifestyle magazine. For further inquiries requiring in-depth consultation, chat support connecting to Hyundai Department Store’s integrated call center agents is available from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.


Jelppo utilizes Kakao Enterprise’s natural language AI engine, Advanced Machine Learning, developed by Kakao Group’s AI subsidiary. During the 10-month development period, over 25,000 customer consultation tests were conducted, achieving an accuracy rate of 97%. Hyundai Department Store plans to continuously monitor the system and develop it further to ensure stable operation and service upgrades.


A Hyundai Department Store representative stated, "We will continue to develop the AI chatbot consultation service Jelppo so that it can establish itself not only as a simple consultation service but also as a marketing and communication platform. We also plan to continuously introduce digital systems that enhance customer convenience and improve employee work efficiency."
