[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, completed the prosecution investigation on the 28th regarding the allegations of the 'Wirye New Town and Daejang-dong Development Project Favoritism Case.'
After finishing the investigation, Lee met with reporters and said, "As expected from the prosecution under the Yoon Seok-yeol prosecutor dictatorship regime, it feels like they were engaging in politics rather than an investigation," adding, "I cannot shake the feeling that they are manipulating the process not to discover the truth but with the goal of indictment."
He continued, "Delaying time to forcibly summon additional appearances, repeating questions already asked, re-presenting submitted materials, and stalling with questions?these actions are precisely the very wrong behavior of privatizing state power," and said, "I will be more faithful to the mission given to me and fight firmly."
Lee said, "I thank our supporters, party members, and the public who have taken an interest and watched over me at this late hour and have endured hardships."
He underwent prosecution investigation starting at 10:30 a.m. that day and finished after 12 and a half hours.
