Risk of Disqualification from Election Cho Hee-yeon, Superintendent of Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, who is suspected of irregular hiring involving dismissed teachers, is attending the first trial sentencing hearing held at the Seoul Central District Court in Seocho-gu, Seoul, on the afternoon of the 27th.

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daehyun] Cho Hee-yeon, the Superintendent of Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, who was prosecuted for unfair special recruitment of dismissed teachers, was sentenced to a suspended prison term in the first trial.


The Criminal Division 25-2 of Seoul Central District Court (Presiding Judges Park Jeong-je, Park Sa-rang, Park Jeong-gil) on the afternoon of the 27th sentenced Superintendent Cho, who was indicted on charges of abuse of authority, obstruction of exercise of rights, and violation of the State Public Officials Act, to 1 year and 6 months in prison with a 2-year suspension.
