Chairman Choi Gap-ryeol of Samil Construction Donates 25 Million Won to Naju City

[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] On the 25th, Choi Gapryeol, chairman of the Samil Paraview Cultural Scholarship Foundation, donated 5 million won, the highest amount for hometown love donations in Naju City, and 20 million won for talent development funds.

According to the city on the 26th, Chairman Choi Gapryeol, a native of Seongbuk-dong (Cheongdong), Naju City, has been a member of the Honor Society, a high-value donor club for donations exceeding 100 million won, and has been consistently engaged in donation activities.


In particular, Chairman Choi established the Samil Paraview Cultural Scholarship Foundation in 2019 and has shown special affection for scholarship projects for talent development, such as supporting the construction fund for the digital library at Chonnam National University and scholarships for children of small business owners.


At the donation ceremony held in the mayor's office at city hall that day, Chairman Choi said, “I have been continuously supporting so that students from difficult family backgrounds can freely pursue their dreams and aspirations and grow into true workers who can contribute to the development of the local community.”


He added, “I hope this will help nurture future talents of society, and I am happy to be able to support my hometown Naju through the newly implemented Hometown Love Donation System.”


Chairman Choi also expressed his intention to re-donate the thank-you gifts worth about 1.5 million won, which are provided as a token of appreciation after the donation, to socially vulnerable groups.


Mayor Yoon Byung-tae responded, “I deeply appreciate Chairman Choi’s patriotism for not forgetting his hometown and generously donating talent development funds and hometown love donations,” and said, “The donated funds will be used valuably for promoting universal educational welfare and supporting vulnerable groups.”


The Hometown Love Donation System is a system where individuals (donors) receive tax credit benefits when they donate a certain amount to regions other than their place of residence, and the regions receiving the donations provide thank-you gifts to the donors.
