The application requirement is that as of the announcement date, January 25, 2023, both parents must have their address in Muan-gun and have continuously resided there for more than one year, or at least one parent must have continuously resided there for more than five years, and the applicant must be a child of such residents.

The selection scale plans to choose 173 students across various fields including academic excellence (high school and university students), low-income, arts and physical education, multi-child families (middle and high school students, university students), and sports hopefuls. Selected scholarship students will receive scholarships totaling about 164 million KRW, with 500,000 KRW for middle and high school students and 1.5 million KRW for university students.

In particular, this selection plan significantly expanded the number of recipients to broaden the scholarship program and included middle school students in the multi-child family category to allow their application.

Applications can be submitted at the local town or township offices of the applicant’s address, and for residents of Namak and Oryong, applications can also be made at the Namak branch office within the Namak Complex Community Center for convenience.

Selection will be made by comprehensively evaluating academic performance and lifestyle in each category. Detailed information on application requirements and other matters can be confirmed on the county website or by contacting the Autonomous Administration Division’s Lifelong Education Team.

The Muan-gun Seungdal Scholarship Foundation will review the submitted application documents, check for duplicate scholarship support, and after the board of directors’ deliberation, will finalize the scholarship recipients by the end of March.

Chairman Kim San said, “We ask for much interest and applications so that outstanding talents in our region can receive scholarship benefits,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to operate diverse and substantial scholarship programs.”
