Oh Governor to Visit Singapore from 25th to 27th

According to Jeju Province on the 25th, Governor Oh Young-hoon held a tea time to share provincial affairs in his office on the same day, expressing his intention to convey the necessity of hosting in Jeju and the wishes of the residents, and to create a large-scale atmosphere.

Governor Oh said, “From the 25th to the 27th, I plan to visit Singapore, where the APEC Secretariat is located, to publicly announce the ASEAN Plus Alpha policy domestically and internationally, and emphasize that Jeju has sufficient optimal infrastructure such as convention industry and expansion of conference facilities,” adding, “Through close exchanges with key ministries such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, I will once again challenge to ensure that the summit meeting is definitely hosted in Jeju.”

In this regard, Governor Oh also stated that a pan-resident hosting committee will be formed, and each department will review and derive tasks related to APEC hosting, while also requesting activities linked to the hometown love donation system.

Jeju Province was eliminated from hosting the meeting in 2005, but since forming the Jeju Hosting Promotion Preparation Team in September 2020 and expanding it in April 2021, it has been actively discussing future hosting strategies by sharing trends with the government and other cities and provinces and consulting with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
