Yoon Sang-hyun "A Difficult Decision by Na... I Will Fill the Empty Seat"

"Chosun Members' Group Lynching Incident"

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Yoon Sang-hyun, a ruling party presidential candidate and member of the People Power Party, expressed respect for former lawmaker Na Kyung-won's decision not to run, calling it a "difficult and challenging decision," and raised his voice saying he would fill her vacant position.

On the 25th, Yoon said through his social media service (SNS), "I, Yoon Sang-hyun, will fill the vacancy in the metropolitan area representation caused by former lawmaker Na's withdrawal."

He added, "We will create a convention effect for the party convention with a three-way structure of Kim Ki-hyun, Ahn Cheol-soo, and Yoon Sang-hyun," emphasizing, "Former lawmaker Na is a great asset to our People Power Party. The victory in the general election and party unity that he urged remain my responsibility."

He also stressed the importance of metropolitan area solidarity, saying, "Former lawmaker Na must also play a significant role in leading the general election victory and continue to lend his strength."

He criticized the statement issued by first-term lawmakers, which is pointed out as one of the reasons for former lawmaker Na's withdrawal. He said, "At the party convention, which should be a festival for party members, a collective lynching incident against former lawmaker Na by first-term lawmakers even occurred," adding, "Such behavior should no longer be shown to the public."

Meanwhile, on the same day, former lawmaker Na held a press conference at the Yeouido party headquarters and declared her withdrawal, saying, "My candidacy could operate as a frame of division and could be perceived very negatively by the public, so out of love for the party, I have decided to step down."
